Science
At Patcham Junior School, it is our intention to recognise the importance of science in every aspect of daily life and to foster a sense of wonder about the world around us. Within the science curriculum, we intend for the children to have the opportunity, wherever possible, to learn through first-hand experiences; by observing, predicting, and carrying out systematic practical investigations.
We are committed to providing stimulating, engaging and challenging learning environments where children can build on their skills in working scientifically, as well as on their scientific knowledge and vocabulary. As children progress through the key stage, they should develop greater independence in planning and carrying out fair and comparative tests and should become increasingly confident in analysing their results and evaluating their scientific findings.
