About us

Patcham Junior School is a three form entry Junior School located to the north of the city of Brighton and Hove, situated on the edge of the South Downs National Park. We occupy a large building which provides a varied and stimulating environment for our pupils. We have a music room, an ICT Suite, twelve class bases and three halls. On site we have two playgrounds, an environmental garden, an adventure playground and extensive playing fields. We have excellent links with the community, including Patcham High School, which is located on the same campus.

Classes throughout the school are organised into single age classes with three per year group – year 3, 4, 5 and 6.  According to present figures, class sizes should be around 32 pupils throughout the school.  Children spend one year with their class teacher before moving on to a new teacher in the following September. We currently also have specialist teachers for Music, French and Religious Education who work with the children on a weekly basis. We also work with a variety of sports coaches, artists, musicians and other specialist teachers to broaden the learning experience of our pupils.
