"WEEKLY SUSTAINABILITY TIP"

Recycling your old electronics responsibly can prevent harmful substances
from entering the environment and conserve valuable material
like copper, silver, and gold that can be reused. However, you cannot simply throw them in a regular recycling bins.

Recycling is one of the most eco-friendly ways to handle old electronics.

What can you do?

Repair: If the item is still functional, check if it can be repaired by the manufacturer or an independent repair service.

Reuse: You can also donate it to a charity that accept electrical items.

Repurpose: If you're feeling creative, consider repurposing old electronics.
Old smartphones can be turned into security cameras, or you can use parts from broken devices for DIY projects.

Recycle: You can safely dispose of them. In the UK, it’s easier than you think:
Local Recycling Centres – Drop off your unwanted devices safely
Retailer Take-Back Schemes – Many stores will recycle old electronics when you upgrade.

Find all our weekly tips on our Sustainability Page!
