And so we’re back once again. Apologies for this coming out to you a little later than planned.
The last half term is already one of the slightly shorter ones in the year, but with the double bank holiday for the coronation, SATs week for our intrepid Year 6s and the regrettable but necessary days of industrial action, the half term was noticeably ‘thinner’ than normal.
Speaking of our Year 6s, they did brilliantly during SATs week, worked hard and focussed throughout each of the tests.
I am a firm believer that children are ‘more than a score’ and just being tested on a narrow band of learning doesn’t tell you all there is to know about their skills across the curriculum or as individuals. That said, they will face assessments for various events or milestones throughout their lives and we are all extremely proud of their resilience shown during the week itself and all year.
Our attention now is firmly on the myriad of events this half term—sports day, parents evenings, leavers assembly, the annual ‘new class mixology’ in the coming few weeks and of course the PJS production of Matilda!
Ticket booking details can be found later in this edition, so please do come along and see the show!
Don’t force me to put any of you in the Chokey for not attending…
